Job summary

LCMC Health in Louisiana is seeking a dedicated RN for a full-time Nights shift (Mon-Thu 9pm–7:30am), with no weekends or holidays. You’ll provide pre- and post-operative nursing care, assess patients, initiate IV therapy, and educate families throughout the surgical journey.

You’ll document care meticulously and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Valid license to practice nursing in Louisiana.
• American Heart Association BLS-HCP certification.
• 1 year Med Tele/Med Surg or SDS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Complete patient assessments, review medical histories, and initiate IV therapy.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patients for pain, complications, and recovery progress.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, discharge instructions, and home recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Promote patient safety and uphold infection prevention and regulatory standards.
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations, including CPR when necessary.
