Job summary

Ivory Plains Recovery Center is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join our team at the Adair, Iowa facility. Newly updated rates range from $40 to $47 per hour on 12-hour shifts, with 1–2 shifts per week and a night shift option.

The role requires an RN license and may involve CPR and de-escalation/ restraint certifications. Ideal candidates have experience in acute psychiatric or behavioral health settings and knowledge of psychotropic medications.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience within clinical area of service provided by facility preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of client, develops and implements nursing care plans, maintains medical records and educates clients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions while ensuring client safety at all times.
• Assesses clients’ status on an ongoing basis and communicates findings to the providers timely.
• Transcribes and reviews provider orders to ensure all required elements are present and appropriate.
• Administers medications accurately, per orders, with two client identifiers.
• Notifies providers of significant changes in status and responds to emergencies.
• Maintains accountability of medication administration and secure storage, including narcotics.
• Completes admission and discharge processes and participates in unit activities and hand-offs.
• Educates clients, families, and coworkers about medication usage, side effects, and patient rights.
