Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Shift Coordinator RN for the Delnor Neurology Unit. The role is full-time nights (three 12-hour shifts, 7p–7:30a) with every third weekend and rotating holidays.

The RN will oversee unit operations, coordinate patient care, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Qualified candidates hold a BSN, Illinois RN license, and BLS, with at least 3 years of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Telemetry competency required.
• Proficient in basic computer use.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care coordination for hospitalized patients.
• Demonstrates professional leadership and oversees daily unit operations.
• Ensures patient safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Maintains staffing and scheduling per unit requirements.
• Supports cost reduction and process improvements.
• Documents key patient care data and unit activities.
• Oversees patient placement and care delivery within staff competency.
• Coordinates with educators and managers for staff orientation.
