Job summary

Nazareth Living Care Center in El Paso, TX is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for the night shift to provide direct nursing care and ensure resident safety.

You will plan, implement, and evaluate care plans per physician orders, uphold facility policies, supervise nursing staff and aides, and respond promptly to emergencies. Strong communication and leadership are required to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Texas.
• An Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• 2 years’ Long-Term Care experience preferred.
• Six (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Point Click Care preferred.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with the nurse practice act, federal and state regulations, facility policies and procedures, and prudent nursing judgment.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the delivery of a resident’s plan of care in accordance with current physician’s orders, rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.
• Know and utilize the facility’s written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
• Be compliant with the policies and privacy of the facility and each patient.
• Provide prompt emergency support measures, including CPR.
• Develop daily work assignments and unit assignments, and/or assist nursing supervisory staff in completing and performing such tasks.
• Ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
• Ensure that departmental computer workstations left unattended are properly logged off.
• Oversee nurse aides and communication with and oversight of nursing home staff to ensure that specific policies, procedures, and systems are maintained correctly as it relates to the department.
