Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, associate’s degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
• Licensed as Registered Nurse in Rhode Island or via Nurse Licensure Compact.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and reports deviations from patient or established norms.
• Identifies deviations from established norms not related to chief patient’s complaints.
• Reports patient’s responses to treatment and documents nursing interventions.
• Provides basic comfort and support according to patient needs.
• Fosters patient and family participation in achieving optimum level of functioning.
• Sets priorities in individual patient assignments.
• Seeks guidance and resources when necessary in management of patient care.
• Identifies and assesses emergency situations and initiates appropriate response.
• Plans for potential needs during emergency situations.
• Defines nursing diagnosis and expected patient outcomes; may modify plan of care.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and evaluations in proper forms.
