Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year experience required.
• Current RCP licensure in appropriate state required.

Responsibilities

• Advocates for the patient and supports education within the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritizes duties based on patients' needs and acuity, ensuring timely completion of care interventions and orders.
• Administers and evaluates medication therapies, transfers patients, and assists with transports.
• Performs routine respiratory care such as ABGs and bronchial hygiene, and provides higher levels of care in critical settings.
• Demonstrates independence in Respiratory Care and adheres to state requirements and standards.
• Critical Care: Ventilator management, code blue, airway management, blood gas interpretation and related protocols.
• Documents care in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements.

Education

Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
