Qualifications

• Nursing degree required and valid NM nursing license or compact state license.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Must work within New Mexico state board of nursing scope of practice.
• Valid driver's license in NM or TX with acceptable driving record, unless waived.

Responsibilities

• Attend sick calls with physicians to see detainees and prepare exam rooms.
• Call the physician for medication and treatment orders and emergencies.
• Administer medications and document treatment per policies.
• Examine detainees and refer to emergency care as needed with proper records.
• Maintain clean work areas and ensure proper sanitation.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records per HIPAA.
