Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care practitioner to provide direct patient care and consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness. The role serves as an advanced resource for the care team and follows physicians' orders, performing duties as assigned.

Licensure and credentialing are required, with ACLS and PALS considerations for ER settings. The candidate should be a graduate of a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program, hold NBRC RRT, and maintain current RCP licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Must meet state licensure requirements and hold an RCP license.
• NBRC RRT credential required.
• ER exposure requires PALS.
• ACLS preferred; critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consults physicians on therapy effectiveness and appropriateness.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.

Position Details

Qualifications Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program. Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license. Experience: None. Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required. Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices. Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred Licensure: Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience. Preferred Certifications: Preferred Other:
