Job summary

LocumJobsOnline is seeking a Psychiatry Physician for a 13-week assignment in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on acute care hospital/psychiatric emergency services with 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) onsite, and no on-call requirements.

Board Certified psychiatrists only; pediatric consults are limited. Epic EMR experience is preferred. Starting October 5, 2026, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team at PED/PEU with local provider priority and competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Psychiatry is required.
• Board Eligible candidates will not be accepted.
• Comfort with psychiatric emergency care and some pediatric consultations.
• Epic EMR experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial psychiatric evaluations.
• Complete follow-up psychiatric evaluations.
• Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate recommendations to consulting teams.
• Place appropriate orders and ensure proper documentation.
• Facilitate transfers between PED/PEU and the Main ED.
• Consult other services as clinically indicated.
• Complete physician-only tasks for APPs and document involuntary admissions as needed.
• Admit patients to psychiatric observation when indicated.
