Job summary
San Jose Behavioral Health in San Jose, CA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) to join our inpatient behavioral health team. Night shifts (11p–7:30a) and part-time evening shifts (3p–11:30p) are available with competitive hourly rates and generous shift differentials.

Qualifications
- Current California LVN or LPT license is required.
- Experience in behavioral health preferred.
- CPR and de-escalation certification required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with data collection and care plan execution as directed.
- Safely administer medications per physician orders.
- Develop and implement self-care teaching plans for patients.
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment under supervision.
- Escalate changes in patient condition to RN or provider promptly.
- Perform required patient rounds and document vital signs accurately.
- Engage patients in activities aligned with treatment goals.
- Respond to distressed patients with calm, non-threatening communication.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and daily operations as needed.
