Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Mental Health Tech to assist in caring for psychiatric patients in crisis under RN supervision. You will monitor the therapeutic environment, assist with daily living activities, perform vitals and phlebotomy, and support the nursing team to deliver safe patient care. Required: High School diploma or GED; CPR certification.

Preferred: EMT or Medical Assistant training. Shifts include Nights 7P-7A, 8- or 12-hour rotations, with 3-5 shifts weekly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• CPR certification (required).
• EMT/Medical Assistant training preferred.
• Nursing or psychiatric care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains a therapeutic environment.
• Identifies and stabilizes crisis situations.
• Transports patients and accompanies during tests and discharge.
• Assists with examinations, safety searches, seclusion/restraint documentation.
• Performs vital signs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing.
• Supports other members of the nursing care team.
• Assists with activities of daily living and unit tasks.
• Cross-trains and provides staffing support as needed.
