Job summary

UCHealth in Aurora, CO is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct psychiatric nursing care in a high‑acuity behavioral health unit. The role supports patient safety, outcomes, and resource optimization while following organizational policies and standards.

The position requires RN licensure, 6 months of RN experience, and CPI/BLS certifications. It is an onsite, night-shift opportunity with a comprehensive total rewards program and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• 6 months of nursing (RN) experience.
• Advanced CPI within 30 days upon hire and then yearly recertification to meet the BHA rules and regulations 11.9.3D.
• BLS/CPR certification valid through sixty days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Initiates corrective action whenever patient presentation shows adverse symptomology.
• Responds to patient care situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
• Provides psychiatric nursing to a complex behavioral health patient population in a complex environment.
• Handles critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and decisive action.
