Job summary

Avient is seeking a Production Operator in McHenry, IL to set up and operate machinery for blending and transporting chemicals, ensuring quality and cost efficiency. You’ll maintain equipment, perform quality checks, record data, and follow safety rules as part of a global materials solutions company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent training & experience.
• Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals.
• Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide; work with conversions and different units.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, starts and runs all machinery.
• Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specifications and ensures correct delivery to machinery.
• Monitors production and equipment; troubleshoots issues for safe, efficient operation.
• Operates machinery to mix, extrude, discharge or handle materials.
• May take samples to lab for evaluation and batch adjustments if needed.
• Performs all required machine cleaning.
• Documents work completed including logs and data reports.
