Job summary

Phoenix Color is seeking a reliable Press Assistant / Feeder for the night shift to support high‑speed printing operations in Hagerstown, MD. You will assist the lead operator with basic press setups, manage inks and chemicals, read job tickets, and help meet daily production and quality targets in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires mechanical inclination, attention to detail, and teamwork. Training in printing processes is available; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with the ability to read a ruler and follow written, technical instructions.
• High attention to detail and strong work ethic.
• Team-oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced pressroom.
• Willing to train in printing/press processes.

Responsibilities

• Press Setup Support: Assist the lead operator with basic press setups, including loading paper, hanging plates, and preparing blankets.
• Supply & Chemistry Management: Monitor, mix, and maintain proper levels of inks, chemicals, and inline solutions for each job run.
• Job Ticket Interpretation: Read and follow specific job tickets to ensure materials match customer specifications.
• Quality & Production Targets: Help the crew meet daily production goals and quality standards.
• Maintenance & Housekeeping: Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the press area clean and safe.
