Job summary

SHL Medical in Charleston, SC, is hiring a Machine Maintenance Specialist to implement predictive maintenance on central facility and production equipment in a highly automated medical production setting. You will help troubleshoot and repair equipment from air compressors to injection molding machines to minimize downtime.

The role requires extensive experience with automated manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across multi-discipline teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 5 years maintaining automated manufacturing equipment.
• Minimum 10 years in highly automated manufacturing environment.
• Experience using prints, schematics and documentation for troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to understand complex process chains in manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement WI and Standard Operating Procedures for equipment operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems of automated equipment.
• Assist facility technicians in troubleshooting and repair of equipment systems.
• Help identify design changes and technologies to create predictive tools.
• Contribute to project teams to ensure objectives are met.
• Identify training needs and develop SOPs for employees.
• Conduct safety audits and uphold safe practices during improvements.
• Find solutions to problem areas in existing procedures.
• Communicate and overcome obstacles to meet production requirements.
• Promote a clean and safe workplace.
