• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions.
• Ability to read blueprints and lay out and fabricate metal parts such as plates, bulkheads and frames.
• Commitment to safety, quality and ability to work overtime on night shift.

Responsibilities

• Layout parts on metal from blueprints or templates.
• Select and prepare tools and equipment for fabrication and riveting or welding.
• Verify material compatibility with specifications for quality control.
• Position parts in hull using alignment methods and equipment.
• Tack weld or temporarily fasten components as required.
