Job summary

Mercy Health in Springfield, OH is seeking a dedicated Night Shift Pharmacist for Springfield Regional Medical Center. The role focuses on medication management, safety, and cost-effective therapy in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The position requires a BS or PharmD, current state license, 2 years of acute care experience, and leadership exposure. Immunization certification is preferred, EPIC EHR familiarity is expected, and the job offers competitive pay and benefits with a 7-on/7-off

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required)
• Advanced pharmacy degree – Doctor of Pharmacy, Masters, Residency (preferred)
• Maintains current license for pharmacist in the state(s) where practicing (required)
• Immunization Certified (preferred)
• 2 years of recent experience in an acute care setting (required)
• Experience in field of pharmacy practice (required)
• One year of leadership experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Process orders and provide medication review for appropriateness, safety and efficacy
• Ensure accurate preparation of compounded and non-compounded products
• Oversee distributive functions of the pharmacy department
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and support personnel activities
• Maintain responsibility for security of pharmacy inventory
• Identify, document, and resolve adverse medication events
• Provide medication education to improve patient understanding and adherence
• Communicate with pharmacy team members, providers, patients and caregivers
• Participate in medication safety, QA, drug utilization reviews and other department activities
