Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to join the General Surgical Unit on the night shift. This full-time role supports patient care under the plan of care, with 36 hours weekly across three shifts.

You will collect patient data, assist with admissions and discharges, document care, and collaborate with nurses to adapt activities and care to each patient’s needs and beliefs. A safe, clean environment and opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CLIAFE compliance for foreign education equivalency if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with approved program.
• Current EMT certification for TX or equivalent.
• Military medical training experience or nursing student with fundamentals.
• 1 year of PCT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• In collaboration with the nurse, adapts care to reflect patient population.
• In collaboration with nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
• Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and rounds as appropriate
