Job summary

• 1-2 years experience in cross sectioning of printed circuit boards.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and work instructions.
• Ability to evaluate cross section for compliance to required specifications.
• Good mechanical aptitude and visual acuity for prolonged sessions using microscopes.
• Good mathematical accuracy in the reading and reporting of cross section specimens.
• Good computer skills: Word, Excel, and ability to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cross section specimens and mounts by grinding, polishing and viewing PCB features.
• Report measurements, anomalies and acceptability of specimens.
• Use Metallurgical Microscope and workstation to generate photomicrographs and reports in Word/Excel.
• Prepare cross section reports for customer documentation.
• Order lab analyses and maintain orderly results files.
• Conduct testing and evaluate PCB samples.
• Use Omega Meter to measure ionic contamination of PCB surfaces.
• Maintain instruments per user manuals.
• Wear PPE (gloves, glasses, shields) when required.
• Inform Managers of potential problems and maintain punctuality.
• Perform housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe lab environment.
• Microsection preparation and analysis (Xlab-001).
• Follow daily priority list from production control center.
