Job summary

Marion General Hospital is seeking a Patient Support Assistant to assist licensed clinicians with direct and indirect patient care on the Medical Unit.

This role includes helping patients with daily living activities, maintaining clean, safe spaces, assisting visitors, transporting supplies and supporting telemetry monitoring under the guidance of RNs.

Shift is night, 24 hours per week. Requires High School diploma or GED and BLS certification; hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• BLS - Basic Life Support certification required by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed clinicians in direct and indirect patient care on the Medical Unit.
• Help patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, feeding, mobility) and maintain patient room cleanliness and safety.
• Transport patients and deliver items as needed; assist visitors and staff with information needs.
• Support telemetry monitoring and report concerns to RNs; perform delegated tasks safely per protocols.
