Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registration Services position to support patient intake and insurance verification in a high-volume hospital outpatient setting. The role requires accurate data entry, proficient computer use, and strong customer service skills.

The position includes night shifts and responsibilities across ED, Radiology, Lab scheduling and admissions. Applicants should have a High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred) and experience with registration systems.

Qualifications

• Proficient data-entry skills with attention to detail.
• Must have computer skills that include use of Windows and the ability to navigate.
• Customer service skills both verbal and written; with a variety of internal and external customers.
• Ability to work in a high volume, team-oriented environment.
• English speaking, reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately obtains and enters demographic, insurance and other related patient information into the computer-based patient registration/scheduling system.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage and ensures pre-authorization and referrals are obtained prior to visits.
• Schedules Radiology, Lab and basic services; handles ED and Labor & Delivery registrations.
• Collects patient liabilities and processes payments prior to or at service.
• Maintains accurate records and supports billing queues to ensure timely processing.
