Job summary

Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach is seeking a dedicated Patient Monitoring Technician for the third shift. This on-site role focuses on remote monitoring, reporting high-risk behaviors, and documenting observations to support patient safety and treatments.

Responsibilities include staying vigilant, communicating with nursing staff, and maintaining patient privacy while working under the supervision of the Program Manager and Team Coordinator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding and proficiency with Remote Patient Monitoring Software System.
• Maintains visual observation of assigned patients at all times and immediately summons nursing staff if assistance is needed.
• Documents observed behaviors and patient safety issues in the EMR per department policy.
• Reports to on-coming and departing staff; reviews pertinent information and behaviors.
• Collaborates with care team to ensure patient safety and privacy.
