Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Float Pool. This full-time night shift role supports RN‑led care across units, performing a range of clinical tasks and patient assistance.

You will collect specimens, perform 12‑lead EKGs, monitor patient safety, assist with hygiene and mobility, and document care data in the patient plan of care. Requirements include CNA certification, a high school diploma, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and Illinois CNA Registry listing.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical/patient care tasks under the direction of the RN or physician.
• Assists patients with hygiene and nutrition as identified in their care plan.
• Performs hourly rounding and documents patient care data as directed.
• Assists with ambulation and positioning and supports the health care team.
• Responds promptly to patient call lights and maintains a safe care environment.
