Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC seeks a Nurse Aide for the Mercy Nursing Float Pool. This full-time night shift role offers 36 hours per week with a 7 PM–7 AM schedule, and a pay range of $20.80–$31.20 per hour.

The position supports RN-led patient care, documentation in EMR, and patient comfort in a fast-paced hospital setting. Education requires a High School Diploma or GED, with no prior experience needed.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required for EMR documentation.
• Strong oral and written communication with patients and team.
• Good organizational skills to manage tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, mobility and positioning.
• Document vitals, intake/output, daily weights and other data in EMR.
• Perform rounds and communicate patient needs to RN promptly.
• Assist in admission/transfer/discharge including room setup and belongings.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Stock nursing area, transport items, and maintain clean equipment.
