Job summary

Aerotek in Waukegan, IL seeks a Machine Operator to set up and run packaging equipment on third shift, 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., Monday–Friday. You will configure bagging, labeling and sealing machines, perform basic adjustments, and guide 2–6 line operators.

You will ensure safe, efficient output, document production records, perform quality checks, and maintain GMP‑compliant, clean work area. Extended hours and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience setting up production machinery.
• Experience overseeing and coordinating the work of at least 2 people on a production line.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
• Comfort using computer systems for documentation and basic data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up a variety of production machines, focusing on bagging, labeling, sealing, and related packaging equipment.
• Follow the production schedule and configure machines for each run.
• Use hand and power tools for setup, changeovers, and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical and operational issues and escalate complex problems to maintenance as needed.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of 2–6 operators on the production line.
• Collaborate with operators to resolve issues affecting performance, quality, or efficiency.
• Use the computer system to document production records accurately and on time.
• Perform basic inspection and quality checks to ensure specifications are met.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area per GMP and food packaging requirements.
• Work third shift (11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., Monday–Friday) with potential extended hours and weekends.
