Job summary

Baxter International is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to safeguard and promote employee health, safety, and wellbeing at our Marion, NC site. You will partner with HR, EHS, and leadership to ensure compliant, proactive health programs and resilient business operations.

The role emphasizes clinical practice, case management, wellness initiatives, and continuous improvement in a safety-focused culture. Night shift requires coordination of care and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in North Carolina.
• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.
• OH certification preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Proficient with computers and common software.
• Clear communication skills (verbal & written).
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and administer the site’s occupational health program.
• Provide immediate care for injuries and illnesses and coordinate emergency response.
• Manage health surveillance programs (hearing, respiratory, exposure).
• Maintain confidential records and regulatory reporting (OSHA, workers’ comp).
• Coordinate case management with healthcare providers, HR, managers, and insurers.
• Deliver health counseling and wellness initiatives.
• Collaborate with EHS to identify hazards and reduce risk.
• Support on-site drug testing programs and follow-up activities.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments with EHS for injury prevention.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with external occupational health physicians and providers.
• Maintain required certifications and continuing education.
