Job summary

Bilfinger is seeking a penetrant testing technician to support production and quality activities in Lafayette, LA by performing liquid penetrant testing in accordance with approved procedures and applicable codes. The role may accommodate PT Level II candidates or those working toward Level II certification, with supervision until certification is achieved.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and able to work night or second shift within a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completed PT classroom training, documented NDT hours, or formal NDT education.
• Current PT Level II certification preferred; may train toward Level II.

Responsibilities

• Perform visible or fluorescent liquid penetrant testing in accordance with written instructions, procedures, and customer requirements.
• Prepare components and inspection surfaces before testing.
• Apply penetrant materials, observe dwell and development times, and complete post-inspection cleaning.
• Set up and verify inspection equipment and materials before use.
• Identify and document relevant indications; interpret and evaluate results within certification limits.
• Accurately complete inspection reports and production records; communicate issues to supervisors.
