Job summary

Thrive Behavioral Hospital in Las Vegas is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to support psychiatric patients on the overnight shift. You will provide therapeutic support under supervision, assist with activities, and help ensure safety and confidentiality.

Your duties include observing patient progress, documenting observations, and communicating with the treatment team to tailor care to age groups from children to geriatrics. CPR and CPI certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; preference for behavioral sciences degree or relevant coursework.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and cultural sensitivity.
• Adherence to program policies and procedures.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• CPR certification, annual skills verification, and CPI certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic support to psychiatric patients under direct supervision.
• Observe, encourage, and record patient activities and progress.
• Ensure patient safety by being vigilant and minimizing risks.
• Act as a professional role model and communicate effectively with the treatment team.
• Adjust therapeutic approach based on patient acuity, age, gender, and culture.
