Job summary

Mercyhealth in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform high-complexity tests, verify results, and maintain instruments, supporting nurses and physicians.

You will handle quality control, testing across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis and blood bank, train new staff, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely reporting of critical results on a 7-on/7-off night schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology required to perform high complexity testing per CLIA 493.1489 Standard
• AS degree in Medical Technology with MLT certification also acceptable with 5 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Receive and collect samples, document QC activities, and generate reports.
• Verify sample identity and specimen quality before analyses.
• Perform high and moderate complexity tests across specialties per policy.
• Analyze results for validity and accuracy prior to reporting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve testing issues; implement corrective actions.
