Sparrow Clinton Hospital in St. Johns, MI is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to provide accurate laboratory test results across multiple areas, maintain equipment, and support quality control.

The role requires an Associate's degree in an MLT program and national certification eligibility with certification within 12 months of hire. Candidate should be flexible to work varied shifts, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently while handling

Formación

• Bachelors or better not required; Associate degree in MLT program
• Nationally recognized certification or eligibility for MLT certification; certification within 12 months of hire
• Experience: MLT experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of laboratory medicine and procedures
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently

Responsabilidades

• Performs accurate and timely assays in hematology, coagulation, serology, urinalysis, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology.
• Performs quality control measures and calibrations as per manuals; documents and processes data.
• Operates laboratory computer system including order entry, results, and reporting.
• Obtains and labels patient specimens, including blood samples.
• Maintains and ensures function of laboratory equipment.
• Trains new staff and assignees.
• Unpacks, dates and stores laboratory supplies.
• Notifies clinicians of critical values immediately.
• Prepares reagents; ensures proper dating and storage.
• Follows department and hospital policies; participates in meetings.
