Job summary

• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and development of maintenance technicians.
• Respond to emergencies and weekend requests as needed.

Position Overview

The essential functions of the Maintenance Manager position include managing and coordinating activities related to production equipment, general plant equipment, maintenance, and new installations. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team to ensure that day-to-day maintenance operations, shared shop resources, and responsibilities are properly distributed among team members.
Requires extensive knowledge of production equipment, industrial automation, and extensive electrical and electronic systems.

Key Duties & Tasks

• Work closely with Operations/Production and Engineering to help achieve production targets without compromising safety, food quality, or reliability.
• Execute and support the preventive maintenance program in collaboration with the Director of Engineering & Maintenance.
• Track, report on, and help improve maintenance KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, and Equipment Reliability (ER), in collaboration with the Director of Engineering & Maintenance.
• Promote and participate in a culture focused on effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) execution.
• Oversee the safe maintenance, repair, replacement, installation, and startup of production equipment.
• Coordinate and oversee external contracting work for installations, repairs, and maintenance.
• Maintain and strengthen OEM and vendor relationships for critical spare parts, repairs, and service of equipment.
• Support the spare parts inventory program, including establishing and maintaining min/max levels for critical components.
• Available to respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues, equipment failures, facility-related incidents, and major breakdowns.
• Available to attend to work on requested weekends, based on the needs of the organization.
• Support the full integration and daily use of the CMMS system, ensuring accurate work order documentation and improving the maintenance team's user experience.
• Conduct daily follow-ups with the maintenance team after plant huddles. Facilitate repairs as well as scheduled preventive maintenance work.
• Improve coordination between shifts by participating in daily meetings to ensure smooth shift-to-shift transitions.
• Generate and distribute end-of-shift reports daily upon completion of the shift.
• Support the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of maintenance technicians.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety (GMP), sanitation, and applicable regulatory requirements, including the safe use of food-grade materials and lubricants.
• Enforce safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
