Job summary

Blue Skies of Texas Senior Living Community is hiring for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to work the 10pm–6am shift in our Skilled Nursing and related care services in San Antonio, TX. The role includes supervising nursing care, admitting and discharging residents, managing medications, and ensuring a safe environment for residents.

Qualifications require a Texas LVN license in good standing, current CPR and AED certifications, and CEUs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be an LVN in the State of Texas and in good standing with the Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Current CPR and AED certifications and CEUs for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and provides nursing care in accordance with physician orders and established standards and policies.
• Performs duties related to pre-admission, admission, and discharge of residents.
• Manages medication regime including orders, transcription, and ensuring medications are on hand.
• Maintains a safe environment for residents.
• Monitors and supervises Health Support Assistants to ensure appropriate care.
• Participates in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committees.
• Communicates with family, physicians, staff, and outside agencies about resident care.
• Records observations, treatments, and medications in the EMR and reports changes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
