Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a qualified Inspector to support changing over lines, perform in-process quality tests, and ensure production quality. The role requires reading and following instructions, using gauges, and accurate data entry.

You will work on a 6PM–6AM rotating schedule with overtime opportunities. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and journeyman-level inspector status or trainee program completion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be a qualified journeyman-level Inspector or successfully completed the Inspector Trainee program.
• Ability to read and comprehend operating instructions, manuals, specifications, and other written material.
• Skilled in using inspection gauges and computer data entry, as well as knowledge of tinplate, coating material, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist with changeovers.
• Stage coils on all lines and stock lines with coils using the HOIST forklift.
• Assist all DRD lines as needed - Break coverage.
• Perform in-process tests (e.g., contamination tests, enamel rating, film weights, water tests).
• Check and record can/end dimensions and sheet length.
• Record tests and inspections in the data system.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas; operate safely.
• Attend weekly Safety Meetings and other instructed meetings.
