Job summary

Sterpak leads a manufacturing team in Houston, focusing on GMP-compliant performance, quality, and Lean principles. The role requires motivational leadership of a cross-functional crew and daily attention to safety, productivity, and KPIs on a fast-paced line.

The ideal candidate will communicate in Spanish, with English as a plus, and will participate in Lean Six Sigma and 5S initiatives to optimize processes and training outcomes on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team on the production line.
• Conduct daily audits for GMP and quality standards.
• Review the schedule demand and adjust as needed.
• Maintain machine performance and record daily production data.
• Train staff and address conflicts among team members.
• Evaluate safety, quality, and KPI during small group huddles.
• Print orders and labels and manage production paperwork.

Job Details: Job Location: Houston, TX 77041, DESCRIPTION

A lead position requires the ability to lead and build a motivational team atmosphere, recognize the responsibility of a leadership role and lead by example and perform professionally. The position requires computer skills in (MS Excel & Word (ERP systems) Have good communication and organization skills, and an aptitude of responsibility in a manufacturing environment performing under the basic GMP principles, and the desire to excel their skills in Basic Lean Six Sigma, Motivational leadership, Quality management and 5S organization design. Willing to participate in programs and community as needed. Communicate in Spanish is a must/ bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

COMPETENCIES

• Conduct daily audits within the safe quality food/safety standards, and to motivate teams to accomplishment Starpak Key Performance Indicators.


• Must obtain the ability to communicate efficiently, within motivational leadership with the ability to coach and address conflict resolution.


• Able to fill out establish performance, coaching documentation.


• Must conduct formal training audits.


• Audit Quality Assurance performance


• Audit Operational perform toward waste and productivity.


• Arrive 30 min early to communicate with the previous lead.


• Review the demand of the schedule.


• Review Safety, Quality and KPI with small group huddles.


• Complete machine audits of line speed.


• Conduct QA audits to monitor quality.


• Complete daily production paperwork


• Print out upcoming orders and labels.


• Check stock levels of rolls behind the machine provide information to administration


• Audit their shift to maintain machine performance.


• Additional duties are required as needed

EXPERIENCE

• 1+ leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in flexible plastic packaging.


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Experience with plastics is desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.


• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and operating equipment.


• Tolerance for working in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, noisy

• Rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, or overnight shifts


• Overtime may be required depending on workload or deadlines.


• Exposure to noise, machinery, or industrial equipment.
