Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a security analyst to support the weekend night shift (Friday to Sunday, 9 PM–9 AM EST). You will monitor security events across networks, endpoints, and cloud data stores using Yahoo’s platforms, SIEM, and AI-augmented workflows to detect and respond to threats.

Join The Paranoids to protect Yahoo’s global user base, investigate advanced threats, and contribute to incident response runbooks. A 24x7 on-call rotation is required for critical incidents.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of security fundamentals, including network/host forensics and log analysis.
• Interest in information security and incident response.
• Familiarity with network services, protocols, and MITRE ATT&CK patterns.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage, and analyze security events from networks, apps, endpoints, and cloud stores.
• Use AI-assisted investigation tools to accelerate log parsing and draft incident timelines.
• Contain incidents and coordinate remediation with Yahoo business units.
• Tuna detection signatures and create new alerting use cases with senior staff.
• Support threat hunting and maintain runbooks and logs.
