Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Security Officer for night shifts at Olathe Hospital. You will patrol, monitor security equipment, control access, respond to emergencies, and assist with incident documentation. Training includes PPE, IAHSS, and TASER use.

Strong customer service and vigilance are essential to maintain a safe environment. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma and 1+ year related experience, with preferred healthcare security background.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of related security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external patrols, inspect doors and lighting, address maintenance issues, issue parking tickets and enforce tobacco policy.
• Control visitor access during non-visiting hours.
• Transport deceased patients and assist with releases as needed.
• Provide escorts and assistance to patients, staff and visitors.
• Respond to facility emergency codes and summon security assistance as required.
• Operate and apply TASERs and Bodycams per policy; maintain equipment.
• Respond promptly to alarms at all building locations and coordinate with initiating staff.
• Document incidents accurately and complete required reports and logs.
