Job summary

UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in the greater Chicagoland area is seeking a Housekeeper II in Environmental Services for a 100% onsite night-shift role. You will ensure a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff across inpatient and non-patient areas.

Responsibilities include general cleaning, moving furniture, blinds, walls and floors; waste handling and biohazard disposal; and operating floor-care equipment while working from ladders or scaffolds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform 10 step cleaning procedures in care areas including ICU/ED and non-patient areas.
• Move furniture including beds and rehang blinds and curtains.
• Wash walls and ceilings and perform floor care tasks.
• Vacuum carpets and perform shampooing; collect waste and biohazardous waste.
• Operate floor care equipment and work from ladder/scaffolding.
