Job summary

VCU Health Pauley Heart Center seeks a Cardiology Heart Failure Scholar to support inpatient coverage on Cardiology units during the night, 12 hours per shift, 7 days a week. The scholar will perform a 4-week rotation and spend remaining time on clinical exposure to cardiology, heart failure, quality improvement, and research.

The role includes teaching and participation in clinical research protocols, plus collaboration with Cardiology faculty and APPs to ensure unified care plans.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Interest in Heart Failure clinical and scholarly activity preferred.
• Experience in inpatient hospital medicine is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage patients on inpatient and observational Cardiology services, 12 hours overnight.
• Provide Emergency Department consultations regarding Cardiology Admissions.
• Collaborate with Cardiology Attendings, Fellows, Residents and APPs to develop unified patient plans.
• Submit billing and document care as required and participate in quality initiatives.
