Job summary

Vitro of Elkin is seeking a qualified Line Operator to join our production team in Elkin, NC. The role focuses on operating the glass production line, coordinating with automation systems and robots, and ensuring products meet customer specifications.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, the ability to work 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, and a willingness to perform routine TPM and safety duties within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass Select Assessment for Manufacturing test per Production Operator profile.
• Must be able to safely operate a forklift and maintain the required license.
• Adequate PC skills to work with computerized systems.
• Motivated, self-driven, and organized.
• Willing to assist in other roles as needed.
• Basic understanding of automation, automated equipment, and robotics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently utilize all equipment and personnel to produce glass meeting customer specs.
• Operate line equipment and automation including programmable controllers and robots.
• Change tooling and programming/equipment setup as needed for different patterns.
• Plan and address daily production needs.
• Perform size checks on cut-not-tempered glass to meet specs.
• Maintain SPC checks and control charts; complete process checks.
• Keep line clean and manage tool storage and waste.
• Log daily production data into forms/databases.
• Assist maintenance and report needs as necessary.
• Direct personnel during pattern changes and downtime.
• Provide relief for line staff during emergencies.
• Train new operators as required.
