Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting of Distribution Center powered industrial trucks. Responsibilities include following work orders, improving procedures, and maintaining safety standards on the PIT fleet.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in industrial maintenance on forklifts or related equipment and hold hydraulics/electrical certificates.

Qualifications

High School diploma preferred.
Two plus years of industrial maintenance experience on forklifts or related equipment.
Forklift Technician III must be proficient in three of seven categories: Electronics/Electrical, Battery Equipment, Other Equipment, Machining/Lathe/Mill, MHE Mechanical Systems, Welding, Hydraulics.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots and repairs all Powered Industrial Equipment under time constraints.
Follows work orders to achieve productivity.
Develops knowledge base of different systems within the Distribution Center.
Initiates and implements new procedures to keep equipment at high efficiency.
Communicates effectively to minimize downtime and ensure high-quality workmanship.
Completes daily PIT checklist and reports defects to management.
