Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Houston, Texas to join a clean, well-run facility and support a safe supply chain operation.

As a Warehouse Forklift Operator, you will load, pick, pack, ship and receive, operate sit-down forklifts, and help maintain accuracy through cycle counts. Weekly pay, paid training, medical/dental/vision and a 401(k) plan are offered.

Night shifts Tue-Fri 5:00pm-3:30am with overtime and a shift premium; emphasis on safety and teamwork in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Able to work within a diverse work environment.
• Punctual with good attendance; reliable and thorough.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Ensure accuracy in picking, packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Provide maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
