Job summary

Southern Champion Tray in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Warehouse Associate for the night shift to support unloading/loading trailers, labeling inventory, and maintaining an organized, safe warehouse. This role requires following SCT procedures and training to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

You will operate material handling equipment, verify pallets, and assist shipping/receiving while adhering to safety policies and daily housekeeping duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have basic computer skills and possess the ability to utilize software.
• Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility: unload and load trailers, put away, audits, scanning, layout compliance, wrapping, stacking, collecting damaged product, labeling, and related inventory/housekeeping tasks.
• Assist in performing the shipping and receiving operation as instructed in the training program.
• Load and unload trailers safely in accordance with SCT safety policies and procedures.
• Verify pallets for labeling and count issues; address any receiving discrepancies.
• Restack pallets as needed in warehouse and transfer processes.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Report mechanical problems or safety hazards related to duties.
• Follow instructions and notify Supervisor of issues that could cause lost production time.
• Unload deliveries from outside vendors; inspect quality, quantity, and condition; record paperwork.
• Adjust to new procedures/innovations to improve efficiency and safety.
• Perform daily forklift checklist and routine equipment maintenance.
• Maintain order in warehouse storage areas; consolidate like items in same aisles.
• May train new/existing employees on SCT safety and policies; daily housekeeping per policy.
