Job summary

Saputo, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Production Operator to safely operate gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment within a 24/7 dairy manufacturing shift.

You will follow SOPs, perform quality checks, set up cartons and coders, and maintain accurate records while supporting audits and health/safety procedures. The role requires lift truck certification or the ability to obtain it, basic math and computer skills, and the flexibility to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• An working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP,5S, GMP, etc.).
• Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Truck).
• Strong math skills.
• Proficient computer skills, software and data entry, SAP a plus.
• Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
• Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of production equipment to include: Gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
• Collect routine product samples and perform routine seal integrity testing to inspect the carton for leaks, tears and perform dye inspections for quality assurance.
• Set-up and use the appropriate gable-top cartons in accordance with the production run schedule.
• Set-up packaging coders, validate product codes in accordance with code specifications.
• Identify and effectively communicate any out‑of‑specification product conditions.
• Follow the established notification protocol.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments.
• Safe operation of a lift truck.
• Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
• Perform equipment change‑overs, CIP/SIP, clean‑up and equipment set‑up.
• Perform environmental controls.
• Perform product reclaim and rework operations in accordance with reclaim guidelines.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
• Follow all established GMPs and Food Safety requirements.
• Cross‑train with other departments.
• Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
• Comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
• Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, actively apply the Saputo Company Values.
• Work together with co‑workers and other department personnel.
• Other duties as required by management.
