Job summary

Emory University seeks a Maintenance Mechanic for the evening shift (Wednesday–Sunday, 11pm–7:30am). In-person role at an Emory location, performing maintenance on building facilities, electrical, plumbing, doors, locks, and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2 years building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and carpentry.
• Experience with computers or mobile apps.
• Possess valid GA driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, twist, climb a ladder, and walk up to one mile.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to locate trouble and repair.
• Repair doors, windows, closures, panic devices, and locks.
• Patch holes and install escutcheons, ceilings and floor tiles as needed.
• Perform minor masonry and wood repairs.
• Install wall hung furnishings and equipment as requested.
• Operate and maintain equipment and conduct surveys and preventive maintenance.
• Enter data into computer systems and databases.
• Maintain records and ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Follow safety regulations and use PPE.
• Respond to customer requests and resolve issues per department guidelines.
• Perform related tasks as required.
