Job summary

UPMC in Fairview Township is seeking an Environmental Services Assistant for a part-time night shift with rotation including weekends and holidays. The role requires participation in the off-shift program after onboarding, with a $2 night differential on eligible shifts.

You will operate cleaning equipment, disinfect areas, move and rearrange supplies, and ensure hospital facilities remain clean, sanitary, and safe.

Responsibilities

• Operates all departmental equipment in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner; maintains equipment after use.
• Climbs ladders to hang cubicle drapes and window drapes or reach areas for cleaning/disinfecting purposes.
• Cleans and services hospital areas, moves furniture, equipment, and supplies; maintains sanitary conditions.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and windows; washes drapes, cubicles, mops, and rags; disposes of refuse and relines bags.
• Transports daily assignments and supplies; returns unused supplies at shift end; cleans carts and equipment.
• Uses chemicals safely per guidelines; wears required PPE.
• Disinfects areas by scrubbing and spraying with germicide cleaner.
• Cleans patient rooms, isolation rooms, floors, beds, restrooms, furniture and equipment after transfers.
