Job summary

Christus Health in Alexandria, LA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician who can perform a range of tasks including patient registrar duties, unit clerk responsibilities, monitoring, phlebotomy, and routine nursing support under RN supervision.

You will assist with admissions, monitoring equipment, maintain stocked environment, and ensure quick, courteous patient interactions. The role requires completion of approved programs and BLS; schedule is 7 PM to 7 AM, full-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of one of the listed healthcare training programs or prior EMT/CHRISTUS Emergency Technician experience.
• 1-2 years of patient care in acute or ED settings preferred.
• BLS certification required with ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges under RN supervision.
• Observe patient conditions and report changes to the RN.
• Operate monitoring equipment and perform basic procedures as delegated.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens as directed by RN.
• Maintain stocked, clean, and safe patient environment.
• Serve as a receptionist for the unit and support clerical tasks.
