Job summary

Westford Public Schools seeks an interim/long-term substitute Night Custodian for Robinson/Day locations in Westford, MA. Immediate start through December 10, 2026, with duties including daily cleaning, event setup, and winter snow removal. Must meet minimum requirements and be able to lift heavy items.

Salary is $22 per hour, full-time coverage under the Custodian contract 2025-2028. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and residency or work eligibility in the U.S.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3 months related custodial experience or training preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow directions.
• Ability to interact well with coworkers, supervisors, staff, students and the public.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of the building including classrooms, bathrooms, gym, cafeteria and offices.
• Maintain corridors with floor machines and report maintenance issues to Head Custodian.
• Assist with setup for events (chairs, tables, desks, trash receptacles).
• Be available for snow/ice removal during winter months (24 hours as needed).
• Lift furniture or heavy equipment as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
