The custodian performs cleaning, basic maintenance, and security duties under supervision of the building administrator or head custodian. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, minor repairs, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Custodian role requires ability to perform custodial duties and minor repairs.
• Requires following supervision from building administrator or head custodian.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment, etc. in the building.
• Cleans classrooms, offices, libraries, restrooms and common areas including chalkboards, dusting, trash, vacuuming, windows.
• Scrubs, mops, disinfects and polishes floors in restrooms, cafeteria, hallways, classrooms, etc.
• Performs minor maintenance and repairs.
• Immediately reports vandalism or other school property issues to supervisor.
• Maintains building security by ensuring doors and windows are locked and lights off when leaving.
• Maintains an inventory of supplies and informs head custodian of needs in advance.
