Job summary

San Jose City College is seeking a Custodian to perform a wide range of custodial and maintenance tasks to keep classrooms, offices and facilities clean, safe, and sanitary. The position requires night shifts, a 5% differential, and report to the Custodial Supervisor.

The role includes operating cleaning machines, moving supplies, and assisting in event setups. A valid California driver's license is required and the District offers comprehensive health benefits and vacation/sick leave as part of

Qualifications

• Read, write and speak English as part of daily duties.
• Experience in building or related cleaning work is required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and seal floors with various machines.
• Operate pressure cleaners for floor cleaning.
• Maintain restrooms, offices and classrooms in clean, sanitary condition.
• Move furniture and equipment between campus locations.
• Set up and break down staging and AV equipment for events.
• Follow safety procedures for hazardous materials and use of cleaners.
