Job summary

Miami University is seeking a Building and Grounds Assistant (Custodial/Janitorial) for the third shift to maintain cleanliness across campus facilities. The role operates 10pm–6am, Friday through Tuesday, with Wednesday and Thursday off, and pays $15.85 per hour for a 40-hour workweek.

Responsibilities include cleaning rooms and restrooms, trash removal, carpet care, and light maintenance tasks. A high school diploma or GED is required, and a POPES physical is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• No experience required.
• May require driver's license.
• Post-Offer Pre-Employment (POPES) physical required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop rooms and hallways; dust and perform general cleaning of rooms; clean windows; vacuum and shampoo carpets; may strip and wax floors; clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Pick up trash, debris and litter from university buildings and grounds; empty trash receptacles.
• Assist with maintaining safe indoor/outdoor surfaces, including during inclement weather.
• May assist with events.
• May pick up and/or deliver equipment and supplies.
• May perform cleaning/washing duties in dining areas.
• May assist with other related campus needs as assigned.
